I hope you have already read the prologue for the upcoming book Love Guaranteed. Check out the previous post if you haven’t yet.
Love Guaranteed is releasing on 25th Jan. Just two days left. Before that I thought of sharing the playlist I made for the book while I was drafting.
This time, I wanted to share the thought that went behind the selection of each song to give you a glimpse into #TanRuv ( Tanisha and Dhruv’s) love story.

Now let me describe how the selection was made and how each song made it’s way into the playlist for Love Guaranteed.
1. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai lofi remix – #TanRuv’s VIBE
This remix version of the beautiful song set the mood for me to write this book. The highs and lows in the music spoke to me of the vibe, the strength and weakness of #TanRuv
2. Tum Se Hi (Instrumental) – #TanRuv ‘s THEME
This instrumental version of the song clearly encapsulates the high and low phases of #TanRuv’s love story and when I listen to it, it takes me through the entirety of the book.
3. Arikil (Oru Murai Vanthu Paarthaya) – #TanRuv’s first meeting
Their first meeting was abrupt and it was all about an instant connection. Love at first sight is a trope that I love a lot and TanRuv’s love story has this trope at its crux. I wrote their first encounter while listening to this song and the words flowed out of my fingertips and the scene played out in my mind’s eye. Cliche? Oh but it happened for real!
4. Kadhal Sadugudu (Alaipayuthe) – #TanRuv’s PASSION
The selection for this category had me in twists for some time. I went through multiple choices before I chose this one. Why? Because this song gave me the playful passion tune that I was looking for. It fit well with the picture in my head for their passion that ranged between playful fun and searing chemistry.
5. Besharam Rang (Pathaan) – Tanisha’s song
This time I wanted a song for my characters individually because Tanisha and Dhruv really stole a piece of my heart. When I think of Tanisha, she is a woman who owns her desires, confidence her second skin and is bold yet a silent storm. Her voice is something that captivated Dhruv’s attention and it is not sweet feminine but dark and deep. I feel Shilpa Rao’s voice and Deepika Padukone’s confidence resonates with Tanisha Raichand perfectly. Tell me if you felt so after reading the book.
6. Ek Pal Ka Jeena (Kaho Na Pyaar Hai) – Dhruv’s song
Dhruv is cool, suave, charming and effortless. He is not an angry young man nor a flirty player. He is sensible but fun, he is cheesy yet mature, he is an amalgamation of what I would call a feminist woman’s ideal man. So he needed a cool song, a stylish intro song. One day I was randomly listening to songs and when this one played out of my Alexa I knew I had my choice right there. What do you think?
7. Hey Shona (Ta Ra Rum Pum) – #TanRuv’s ROMANCE
Tanisha and Dhruv together are cute and romantic. Initially I felt I don’t need to add a separate song for their romance since I’m already talking about their vibe and theme and even passion. But Love Guaranteed has been a romance that filled my heart, among the books I’ve written. So I felt they deserved this extra song from me. I can never listen to this song without imagining them.
8. Judaai (Badlapur) – #TanRuv’s ANGST
Now this is again a song choice that had me in twists. I could find a song that suited either Dhruv or Tanisha. But to find one song that would describe their individualistic angst was tough to come by but finally I cracked it. Judaai has that deep impassive female voice and the expressive Male voice that vibes aptly with Tanisha and Dhruv. So this was the best choice to describe their angst.
