Burn With Me is not just any romance book. It is a gripping tale of power-play within families, manipulation, forbidden love and much more…
The Goels and the Bakshis are two prominent business titans in Delhi with a history of rivalry. Amrita Goel and Arnav Bakshi come across each other under circumstances they have no control over. Their connection is spontaneous but the timing is wrong, thwarting any chance of them being together.
Years later, when they cross paths again, they realize that whatever is brewing between them is promising but it could challenge the circumstances that bind them. Throwing caution to the wind, they embrace a torrid romance. But will they be able to overcome the obstacles in their path?
Amrita, who is denied her legacy, has to fight for it and also find her way to the man she loved and lost. She has to wage a war against her family to win what is rightfully hers. Whether she succeeds in her battles and at the same time wins back her man is for the readers to find out.
If Book 1 of the ‘Goel series’ sees Amrita fighting for her rights, Book 2 of the series will follow the story with Amrita’s brother, Shaan Goel, entering the war to gain the CEO hot seat while discovering his own love story along the way.
Thank you for giving me a sense of hope, purpose and drive to see this life through, readers.
A special thank you to readers who preordered the book. I never expected that even though I placed a preorder option for fun. But it has been a big confidence boost for me to write the stories I want to and in the way I want to.
Once again thank you for being the light for me, today. You may not realise it but it means a lot to me ❤

BLURB: Destiny is a powerful force. It can bring people together as well as take them apart too. However, what’s meant to be will always find its way back into one’s life. No amount of self imposed rules or distance will matter then. There is no stopping a love which is meant to be.
Ayaan & Nanda were inseparable in their childhood. A tragedy forces distance into their equation. She waited for him in his absence & he yearned for her despite the self-imposed distance. Years later they meet again for their cousin’s wedding. Their hearts long for each other as they try to escape the inevitable.
Ayaan & Nanda can deny, ignore, or try to justify their feelings but a true love like that will always triumph over all odds. Love is a sweet pain as well as magic, it takes courage to admit and accept one’s feelings and express them without any expectations.
Dedicated to all those who have at least once dared to love!

I asked for a honest take on my writing style to some of my writer friends and my team of editors and proofreaders who have worked closely with my books. This is what they have to say. I’m grateful for their kind words and genuine feedback.

Now enjoy reading the prologue. A side note – while reading the prologue if you can, listen to Aga Naga x Patanjalikritham song in the background. I was listening to that song when I wrote this scene.
PROLOGUE
Arnav Bakshi was bored. He couldn’t wait for the wedding to be over so that he could congratulate the couple and walk away. The Goels and the Bakshis never got along owing to the decades-old rivalry between the two families that often spilled beyond the business realm. But since he had been invited to the occasion of the Goel heiress, Amrita, being wedded to the political family of the Khannas, his presence at this social function was mandatory. Corporate flirting during such big events was a wise strategy.
Arnav was typing away on his phone when he felt something shift in the air around him. Subconsciously, his eyes turned and fell on the bride entering the venue with all the accompanying paraphernalia. He sat there mesmerized at the beautiful vision that appeared before his eyes. It was his first encounter with Amrita Goel, the woman who walked into his life as a bride, albeit not his bride. Her walk of elegance filled him with a vivid elation that Arnav could not quite explain.
Under layers of makeup, heavy ancestral jewellery, and a custom-made branded wedding lehenga in cinnamon-brown colour, I see a defenceless girl who is masking her susceptibility under her glowing grace and regal aura. It surprises me how I’m able to recognise her inner vulnerability despite her demeanour of measured power and confidence.
She is not a feature-esque beauty; she has small black eyes that take up very little space on her face, a big fluffy nose tip that stands out, and possibly the smallest lips I’ve ever seen. But the overall impact is surprisingly awe-inducing. Her pitch-black orbs hoist soulful eyes beneath the full lashes that cover them and her small stretch of lips hide beneath them one of the most beautiful smiles. Her nose and its imperfection make her seem more human and real, and in an uncanny way, it adds to her appeal. The lustre of her face makes every being around her feel lesser.
Her neatly covered frame is guarding some beautifully full curves beneath it, curves that could make a man’s blood sing. She doesn’t seem like someone who is cautious about fitness; instead, she seemed confident about the healthy platter of curves and dips she owns. She has the demeanour of someone who knows what they can do to a man!
An unwelcome desire thrummed through his veins and he tried hard to suppress it. Arnav noticed how, despite her confident slow steps, her body spoke of a resistance and her heavily kohled downcast eyes kept running restlessly on the flower bed through which she walked. Somehow, Arnav could read the tension in her tightly wrung fingers. He did not fully reckon how he could read this girl whom he had just seen. Arnav wondered if he was projecting his thoughts onto her visage.
As he remained muddled in those thoughts, she passed by him and her long veil, which stretched behind her, lightly grazed the back of his palm. That brush of her veil made him feel like their lives were aligned together from that particular moment. He did not understand the crazy thoughts taking shape in his head but he did not have the time to call in his logical brain to make him see light. He watched intently as the bride entered her mandap and sat beside her bridegroom. Arnav felt his chest tighten. He had the sudden urge to run up the stairs and grab her hand and place her beside him. He exhaled restlessly as he tried to breathe normally to fight the unsettling feeling in his stomach.
Just then he saw those dark orbs lift up and gaze at the guests and somehow, her gaze landed on him, as if she was aware of his intense gaze on her. In that split second, everything seemed to come to a standstill. While the crowd around froze into a silence in their mind, their hearts tried to speak through their eyes.
Amrita let her gaze trace the handsome man who was sitting in the front row. With a taut physique that spoke of rigorous workouts and a face blessed with great genes, he was a fine specimen of the male species. A classic shoulder-length long haircut added to his appeal. His warm honey-brown eyes that glittered with ambiguous emotions beckoned Amrita to throw caution to wind and run away, preferably with him. Amrita felt a shiver as soon as the thought registered. Her surprise must have shown on her face because his long lips twisted slightly as if telling her she had read his intentions right.
His straight broad nose above the firm lips scrunched when his eyes moved to her groom. Amrita broke into a cold sweat as she realized what she was doing.
This marriage might not be my choice, but I am doing it for real. I’m sitting in the mandap to enter into a sacred bond that promises love and respect. How can I then disrespect the holiness of the moment by being drawn to a stranger?
Guilt washed over her and she quickly averted her eyes, but she could still feel his hot gaze on her. Her lips thinned in annoyance and excitement in equal measure. She wanted to raise her eyes to clash with his one last time but she willed her eyes to stray towards her groom, Varun, who turned to her with an impassive smile. The coldness in his eyes and his body language revolted her but she willed her mind to accept her reality. Varun placed his hand on hers and Amrita tried to feel something as she glanced at their entwined hands but she felt nothing. She turned her eyes back to the stranger and saw his honey orbs burning.
This time she did not avert her eyes because in that moment she knew no matter what her feelings were, her fate was sealed and it was not in her hands. As resignation writ itself in her frame, Arnav felt defeated. It occurred to him that he was losing something precious today even before he had got his hands on it. He felt helpless and couldn’t comprehend his own feelings. An insurmountable sense of loss clawed at his heart as he watched her becoming someone else’s. It was the end but it was also the beginning.
